Thursdays Term 2 (April 23-June 11) | 7pm-8:30pm

Circle of Security Parenting | Sarah McDonald

Parenting is one of the most profound things we ever do and one of the hardest. Many of us feel overwhelmed and lonely when we’re doing it without the right support.

When emotions are high and reserves are low, wouldn’t it be great to know what your child is needing in this moment and be able to respond from a place of confidence and connection, rather than the same default script that has been running?

The Circle of Security program is a research-based, deeply human approach to understanding your child’s emotional needs and your own patterns as a parent. The course helps us understand it’s not about being a perfect parent, but about understanding the relationship between the two of you and what your child actually needs. It gives both you and your child something that lasts a lifetime.

Over 8 Thursday evenings across Term 2, local teacher and parent of two teenagers Sarah McDonald will guide you through:

  • Understanding what your child is communicating beneath their behaviour
  • Recognising the moments when they need connection versus encouragement toward independence
  • Identifying your own triggers and patterns (with compassion, not judgment)
  • Building the kind of secure attachment that shapes your child’s emotional world for decades to come (even if big and grown)

What you’ll walk away with isn’t a set of techniques. It’s a completely different way of seeing your child. Parents consistently describe it as one of the most transformative things they’ve done, not just as a parent, but as a person. As a therapist, I recommend this highly (and frequently do to my clients!).

If you’re in the thick of parenting – babies, children, teens, or even adults – and navigating big behaviours, emotions, or challenges, or just feeling like something’s slightly off and you can’t quite name it… this is for you.

Sunday May 10 | 1-3pm

Join Anna alongside an intimate group of likeminded women to honour the cycle of the seasons.

Gathering in circle with women is an ancient tradition rooted in intention and ritual, and offers an opportunity to reflect, release, and renew as we celebrate warmth, new life, and an invitation to balance.

In the Southern Hemisphere, this cross-quarter moment (falling between the autumn equinox and the winter solstice) carries a particular kind of medicine. The leaves are letting go. The light is drawing back. And something in us recognises the invitation to do the same.

This is the season of turning inward. Of honouring what has been, releasing what no longer serves, and making space for whatever wants to quietly take root in the dark. In traditions across the world, this threshold moment has always been a time for reflection, for remembrance, and for the kind of deep rest that only comes when we stop pushing against the season and finally soften into it.

Come as you are. We’ll create a space together that is warm, witnessed, and unhurried. Our circles are a place to breathe out, to remember, and to belong.

Come join us for a grounding movement practice and meditiation followed by reflection, intention setting, and sharing.

With Dr Susannah French of The Harpy’s Oracle

Curious about tarot but not sure where to start? Never quite understood the difference between a pentacle and a sword? This is your invitation.

Tarot is more than a deck of beautiful cards. It’s a tool for self-knowledge, a practice of reflection and, when the world feels like it’s happening to you rather than with you, a way of reclaiming your own agency. Reading tarot is, in its own way, a quietly political act. It puts the power of interpretation back in your hands.

Across four Saturday afternoons, you’ll explore the history and origins of tarot, learn to read both the Major and Minor Arcana, work with a range of spreads, and engage thoughtfully with the ethics of reading for yourself and for others. You’ll also discover what kind of tarot practitioner you are, because there is no single right way to read the cards.

What you’ll walk away with:

  • Confidence to read for yourself and those you love

  • A working knowledge of the Major and Minor Arcana, and how the suits speak to each other

  • The ability to choose and work with spreads that suit your questions

  • A copy of Susannah’s eBook, yours to keep

  • Lifetime access to Susannah’s ongoing resources

A gap week between May 30 and June 13 gives you space to practise solo before we close the series together (a lovely rhythm for integration).

$500 | 20 places only. These will go quickly.

Come along to connect, create, express, explore & relax, with light refreshments & tea.

Naked Awakening is a life drawing class with a twist, facilitated by Creative Arts Therapist Zoe. Zoe holds these classes regularly in Newcastle, and is so excited to be hosting this special event in Canberra.

The theme for this session is ‘Soul Stripped Bare’.

Who are you when you’re stripped bare? No pleasing or appeasing, no mask, no performing. The distilled essence of you.

Who is that person? How far is the distance between the person within, and the person that shows up in the external world? How close to authentic expression do you feel? How safe is it for you to relax into your softest, truest being?

How aligned does your outer world feel with the person that lives inside your head? Inside your skin?

It is possible to be more of yourself. To unmask and drop your shoulders. There is a tribe for you. There are places and spaces that will welcome your wholeness. But they cannot find you if you’re hiding behind a mask.

Expect an evening of connection, meditation, sound healing, life drawing (nude model) and light refreshments with herbal tea.

No art experience needed. This class is about the process, not the outcome, and it is not a technical drawing class. Come to play and have fun!

Our life model for this session is male.

All drawing materials provided – you just need to bring yourself!

18+ event.

Sunday July 5 | 4pm-7:15pm

Shakti Womb Dance | Kate Dillon

There’s a spaciousness that emerges when women gather to move in their authentic expression… a quality of holding that allows something wild and true to finally dance free.

Join me for a sacred women’s healing circle in Soma Women’s Wellbeing where your body’s ancient wisdom awakens through movement, voice, and the medicine of being witnessed in your fullness.

It makes perfect sense if you feel hesitant about moving freely. Any woman who has learned to monitor her every gesture would feel this way. What’s actually happening isn’t that you’ve lost your wildness – it’s that your nervous system needs deep permission before it will allow that freedom to emerge.

Womb Shakti Dance creates an environment of acceptance so that inhibitions naturally dissolve. This feminine embodiment practice honours your body as a gateway to wisdom, not something to control or perfect.

What You’ll Experience:

  • Sacred blessing ritual with rose oil and plant medicine allies
  • Heart-opening ceremonial cacao ceremony
  • Womb connection practices to awaken your creative life force
  • Voice activation to liberate your authentic expression
  • Organic movement and free dance to carefully curated primal beats
  • Deep rest and integration in sacred circle
  • Witnessing and being witnessed by other women in authentic expression

This 3-hour-15-minute journey combines ancient feminine wisdom with modern embodiment practices. I hold a nurturing container where transformation happens not through force, but through offering such unconditional acceptance that your body naturally unfurls into its wisdom.

Investment in your feminine embodiment journey:

Super Early Bird: Ends 8pm 28 February 2026 ~ $88

Early Bird: Ends 8pm 15 March 2026 ~ $98

Standard: $108

What to Bring: Water bottle, comfortable clothing for free movement, and an open heart for whatever wants to emerge.

Note: While Soma is an inclusive space, this specific event is for women with female bodies only. Please avoid eating 1-2 hours before and synthetic fragrances.

Accessibility: Soma is accessed via stairs with no lift available.

You don’t need dance experience or to know how to ‘move correctly.’ You just need to arrive as you are, and I’ll hold the space for whatever wants to emerge.

Fundraiser for Palestine - "Where The Olive Trees Weep" | Soma

Join Anna and Linda for a screening of Where The Olive Trees Weep.

The producers describe this as a film that “gives background to the current crisis in Israel/Palestine and brings to light the lives of people we met on our 2022 journey in the occupied West Bank. Their universally human stories speak of intergenerational pain, trauma and resilience.

“We hope they touch your heart, stir compassion and understanding, and give rise to a pursuit for justice. For without justice, peace remains an empty slogan.”

This screening is welcome to all. Disrespectful behaviour will not be tolerated.

$20 | All funds received to Soma will go directly to the Australia Palestine Advocacy Network.
