About Us.

Backing ancient wisdom with modern science, we offer a range of group and 1-1 modalities to support your embodied wellbeing.

We are queer friendly and neuro-affirming.

We acknowledge the traditional custodians on the unceded land we gather – the Ngunnawal and Ngambri people. We pay our respects to their continuing culture, and honour their elders, past, present and emerging.

Who we are

Facilitators, learners, practitioners.

Soma Women’s Wellbeing is a community of teachers, facilitators, and practitioners who don’t pretend to have all the answers, but nonetheless offer tried and true practices, experiences and wisdom for you to live your fullest and best life.

THE INVITATION

Soma Women’s Wellbeing is your invitation to embark on a journey of self-discovery and transformation in community.

Our story.

Soma Women’s Wellbeing was born out of a decades-long dream to create space for women to reconnect with their bodies, with particular care for the transitions of our feminine life-cycle: birth, bleeding, adulthood, pregnancy, birthing, post-partum, peri-menopause, & post-menopause. A space where the messy, gritty, and painful could be welcomed alongside the joyous, funny, and triumphant. A space where we could learn to love and grieve and laugh and cry together, as we walk towards our truest and most authentic selves.

Soma means body. Our bodies are the houses for our mind and spirit, the vessels through which we create, the interface between matter and immaterial. They connect us to our ancestors through DNA, they connect us to the earth through our fundamental building blocks, and the connect us to each other as we all bleed red.

Soma Women’s Wellbeing hopes to help guide you home to your body, and in doing so, your truest self, carrying your heritage, dreaming your future into being, connected to the Earth and your community around you.

A Women-Centred Wellbeing Space

All health care is inherently male-centred. Research, practices, clinical trials, and texts centre the male body. By default, care-as-usual is care for the male body. Soma Women’s Wellbeing was created as a space for women.

High Quality Care

We aim to offer you the best there is in wellbeing for women. Our staff continue to learn, grow, and unlearn in their quest to provide first class care.

Returning to the Old Ways

Progress at all costs, ‘rationality’ above all, everyone and everything is a commodity, resources are for the taking – these are trademarks of our society. But this way is unsustainable, and it shows across every facet of our lives.

Once upon a time, our ancestors lived in balance. We understood that decision making cannot be separated from our emotions, that we need to give as much as we get, that our intuition is just as important as measurable fact, that we are interdependent not independent, and that our body cannot be ignored.

We knew that our rites of passage governed our health, that movement was key to life, and that trauma could be overcome.

Ancient wisdom resides inside you. We can remember our old, balanced ways.

Reclaiming Aliveness

As women many of us have been conditioned to be nice, acquiesce, and prioritise everyone else’s needs over our own. Although in moderation this can serve community, when imbalance it leads to resentment, frustration, burn out, and blocked aliveness.

At Soma, we hope to support you to be yourself, Alive, and well.

Collaborative, Interdisciplinary Care

We believe you are the expert in your own body and that there is not one singular way to wellness.

At Soma we offer a range of therapies, classes and workshops to offer healing at an individual and community level, with all our staff working together to support your health and wellbeing.

Nutritionist

Lina’s passion for nutrition and health is deeply personal. After battling through health issues, she discovered how transformative dietary changes can be. Inspired by the benefits of finding the right diet for her, she returned to university to study nutrition, earning a Bachelor of Human Nutrition in 2020 with a Dean’s Award for excellence.

Lina now combines her previous Bachelor of Psychology and work as a patient liaison for local government and quality assurance with her nutrition practice to enhance health through science-based, evidence-informed nutrition practices.

As a mother of two, she is particularly passionate about supporting pregnant and postpartum women, advocating for the care and nutrition they need during this critical time.

You don’t have to do it alone.
